Refunds, transfers and missed sessions
Cancellation Policy
Different rules for classes, camps, parties and makerspace, because they cost us different things to hold. Here they are in one table rather than four paragraphs.

The camp and makerspace rows are Exploratores’ existing published terms. The class, try-out, party and workshop rows are proposals, and are more generous than the current wording. On the live site these terms appear only as a paragraph buried on individual programme pages.

How to cancel
Email info@exploratores.com or cancel from your account. The date we receive your message is the date that counts, not the date you meant to send it. We will confirm in writing within one working day.
Missing a single session
Tell us in advance and we hold your child’s project so it is waiting when they come back. Where a comparable class runs on another afternoon that week and a seat is free, we will offer it. We do not refund or credit individual missed sessions in a series, because the seat is held for the whole term.
If we cancel
If Exploratores cancels a session for any reason, including weather, instructor illness or a building problem, you get the choice of a make-up session or a full refund of that session’s value. If we cancel a whole camp week or class series, you get a full refund regardless of notice.
Joining part-way through a series
Class series prices are prorated to the number of lessons remaining. If you join in week three of a six-week cycle, you pay for four. Cancellation terms then apply to the amount actually paid.
Birthday parties
- A $150 deposit holds your slot and comes off the balance.
- Cancel more than 14 days before and the deposit is refunded in full.
- Inside 14 days the deposit is retained, because the slot is unlikely to resell.
- You may move the date once at no charge, subject to availability.
- Final guest numbers are confirmed 7 days before. You pay for the numbers confirmed, not the numbers who turn up.
Camps
Camps are non-transferable between children and between weeks. Notify us in writing at least two weeks before the start date and 50% of the tuition is refunded. Inside two weeks, no refund is issued. This is stricter than our class policy because camp materials are bought per camper in advance and the group is capped at twelve.
Medical exception
If your child cannot attend for a medical reason and you can provide a note, we will credit the unused portion of any booking to your account for twelve months, regardless of the notice given. We would rather do that than have a sick child in the room.
Behaviour
If a participant has to be withdrawn from a programme for conduct that puts themselves or others at risk, we refund the unused portion. We will always talk to you first.
